It also supports the functioning of the digestive, digestive and nervous systems. The secret lies in substances contained in natural honey, which are not found in artificial products. How to find out that honey is real? What is the most useful and how to use it so as not to lose its valuable properties?

What is the healthiest honey?

From infections of the upper respiratory tract, it is best to use linden and honey – both of them strongly stimulate the immune system, have antipathetic and antibacterial properties and help fight cough. They also strengthen the body after antibiotic therapy. In turn, for people with a weakened circulatory system, buckwheat, acacia or phacelia honey is best suited.

The first is recommended primarily for older people with atherosclerosis, hypertension and coronary heart disease. It contains a large amount of routine, which strengthens blood vessels, and also has a strong regenerative effect and helps with recovery.

Acacia honey regulates blood pressure and lowers bad cholesterol. Phacelium honey, in turn, strengthens the heart, and also helps fight digestive and gastrointestinal diseases, and also reduces the harmful effects of stimulants. People with urinary tract problems should reach for rare gold-bearing honey. It has anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, which helps to fight urinary tract infections and protects them from relapses. It also strengthens the cardiovascular system.

How to find out that honey is real?

It is very difficult for ordinary people to distinguish artificial honey from natural honey. The difference lies in the barely noticeable taste notes, texture and aftertaste that remain in the mouth after ingestion (natural honey slightly burns and scratches the throat). Only experienced beekeepers can determine the age and type of honey. Fortunately, there are simple methods to check whether honey is natural (artificial honey is diluted with water or bees feed on sugar syrups to speed up the production process).

The first of these is a dissolution test – just pour a teaspoon of honey in a glass of cold water. Uneven dissolution and visible streaks in water (as well as settling at the bottom of the glass) indicate that the honey is natural (artificial dissolves quickly and evenly). Weighing honey is another way – a liter of natural product should weigh about 1.4 kg. Natural honey in a few months goes through the crystallization process, while maintaining all the healing properties. Artificial honey never loses its liquid consistency.

How to use honey so as not to lose its valuable properties?

Honey loses its valuable properties already at 40 degrees Celsius. It should not be added to boiling water or used in baking and prepared meals. Therefore, it is better to use it directly – especially for infections and colds – it will work like a syrup. Natural honey is also an ideal complement to desserts, granola, cereal, as well as fruit and vegetable smoothies. In autumn, it is worth preparing a natural syrup based on lemon, ginger and honey, which will stop the development of infection at the first sign of a cold. Pour a little honey into a dry and custard jar, and then place alternating layers of 4 slices of lemon (it should be thoroughly washed and remove stones from the slices) and 2 teaspoons of freshly grated ginger to fill the jar. The whole is poured with honey (preferably lime or dew), we close and put in the refrigerator for 24 hours. At the end of this time, the syrup is ready for use (separately or as an addition to chilled tea).
