Modern cars have many innovative solutions, the main goal of which is to make driving easier and increase the comfort of both the driver and all passengers.

Modern automobile gadgets will make travel even more comfortable. They can also help improve passenger safety and protect the car, which is what car cameras offer us, for example. Why is it worth installing it in your car, and what other gadgets should you get to know better?

Gadgets: Car Radio

Radios are already standard on all cars, but it’s worth choosing more advanced models. In addition to playing music from the radio and CDs, some of them allow you to read DVDs, video files from flash drives, memory cards and iPods. Are you going on a longer trip? Passengers can watch a cartoon or movie on the touch screen.

Other modern advanced radio features include:

  • the ability to connect a radio via Bluetooth and play music or movies from a smartphone;
  • hands-free kit, thanks to which you can have a telephone conversation while driving;
  • USB input and AUX connector;
  • sound equalizer to customize music settings according to your preferences;
  • GPS that will always find the right path to your destination.

As you can see, these days, a car stereo can offer you much more than just the ability to play your favorite music.

Gadgets: DVR

With a dash cam, you can record images while driving, including dangerous situations. If you become a member, it will quickly become clear who is really at fault, making legal and insurance investigations easier. No one can convince you that it’s your fault – all you have to do is use the recording as evidence.

Depending on your preferences, you can purchase one of the following types of car cameras:

  • front lens – you record only what happens in front of the car;
  • rear lens – you capture the area behind your car, such as the registration number of the car that hit the rear of your car;
  • Dual lens, i.e., front-rear camera – you record the road both in front and behind your car.

Interestingly, you can also buy a car camera that records the inside of your car. This solution is often used by professional drivers, including taxi drivers, to record possible dangerous behavior of their passengers.

Gadget: Parking sensor

The parking sensor is a modern system that will help you when reversing or parking in reverse. The main role is to assess the distance of the car to other objects, that is, possible obstacles. Parking sensors use high-frequency ultrasonic waves that, after being sent, bounce off other objects and return to the device. Here the wave return time is measured.

Be sure to purchase a parking sensor if you drive through a crowded city where parking lots are usually full, or if you use an underground garage where you park backwards. The device will be useful when maneuvering in adverse weather conditions, for example, when windows and mirrors fog up. This will surely help you avoid an accident in many cases.

Gadget: Blind Spot Monitoring System

Simply put, a blind spot monitoring system is a driver’s second pair of eyes. It detects all vehicles behind the car in the so-called blind zone of the field of view, which cannot be seen in the side mirrors. If such vehicles are detected, the system warns of a risk of collision. Then you know not to change lanes because they are already occupied.

The presence of other vehicles in the blind spot is believed to be one of the most common causes of road traffic accidents and serious accidents. A set of sensors is installed on the side mirrors and/or rear bumper. You can find modern motion sensors connected to a rearview camera or a regular car camera. You can even see your blind spot on the screen.

Gadget: ESP

The ESP system is an automatic function that stabilizes the trajectory in the event of a possible skid.

Particularly useful for uncontrolled steering movements. ESP uses the ABS system to operate – it is partly its technological successor. In other words, the purpose of ESP is to stabilize the vehicle’s trajectory in adverse weather conditions so that dangerous accidents do not occur.

Thanks to ESP, you will quickly regain control of the steering wheel even in difficult conditions. Remember that when the ESP system is activated, it takes over control of ABS (protects against wheel locking during braking) and ASR (the car does not lose traction when accelerating).
