Painful varicose veins, ugly spider veins, heavy swollen legs are problems that many of us struggle with. Contrary to the prevailing opinion in the media that the only way to get light legs and loose veins is by taking pills available at the pharmacy, there are many natural methods that help in the fight against varicose veins and swelling of the extremities. They are worth referring to before choosing more invasive methods.

Calendula ointment

Take two handfuls of dried marigolds (leaves, stems and flowers), heat 250 g lard (you can also use a good margarine with a little oil), add calendula to it, let it stand for a while, then remove from heat. Cover with a lid, leave for a day. Then heat slightly and filter through linen cloth into a mold. Lubricate varicose veins with ointment three times a day if you do not have sores or wounds.

St. John’s worth of oil

Moisten 25 g of fresh St. John’s worth flowers with a teaspoon of alcohol and pour in 100 g of vegetable oil. Heat all the steam for 2–3 hours, stirring constantly, for several days. When the oil turns red, strain it and bottle or jar.

Lubricate painful varicose veins with oil. This treatment is also used for vitiligo. Then only lighter areas should be lubricated. Just remember that these places cannot be exposed to the sun.

Nutmeg

Grate 5 g of nutmeg and put in a glass of hot boiled water. Add a tablespoon of honey. Drink 1 tablespoon in the morning – one hour before meals and in the evening – two hours after meals.

Onion wrap

Digest 2 onions, crush them and put them on the varicose veins. Wrap your legs with gauze or a bandage and leave for half an hour. After this time, remove the compress and wash your feet.

Buckwheat grass

Pour 2 teaspoons of buckwheat with a glass of boiling water. Cook for another 2 minutes. Allow cooling for 10 minutes, then drain. Drink 2–3 glasses of the broth daily for 4–6 weeks.

This procedure will strengthen the walls of the blood vessels and provide relief from varicose veins and swelling of the legs.

Chestnut vinegar

Mash 20 chestnuts, add 2–3 tablespoons of ground mustard (black or white), pour in 1/2 liter of alcoholic vinegar and place in a cool dark place for 14 days. After this time, lubricate the legs with tincture 2 times a day until the edema disappears. If you feel a burning sensation, dilute the tincture with water. It is an excellent remedy for leg swelling.
