Toothache, swollen gums – this has happened to all of us at least once. Most often we take pain relievers, and when it is too weak, we take more … and more. But why ruin your stomach and liver when natural home remedies are equally effective in fighting toothache? Remember that they will provide relief, but they will not solve bigger problems. If the pain persists, be sure to visit your dentist.

Herbs for toothache

Ginger Root: Toothache relief is just one of the properties of this plant. Ginger, due to its antibacterial properties, helps to relieve toothaches and swelling of the gums associated with swelling, inflammation or injury. Peel a piece of ginger root, cut off a wedge and attach to the sore spot.

Thyme: Effective on its own and when combined with other herbs. It has antifungal and antiseptic properties that can help fight gum disease and slow down the formation of plaque. When combined with peppermint, it reduces gum swelling, which is a common cause of pain.

Turmeric: This plant has many valuable medicinal properties: it has anti-cancer properties, soothes rheumatic pains, protects the liver and soothes toothaches. Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder with water until a thick paste form. Use a cotton ball on the sore spot. Turmeric’s antiseptic properties will relieve pain and reduce swelling.

Yarrow: Its root has pain relieving properties, so it is ideal for toothache relief. For best results, rub fresh yarrow root or leaves directly into aching teeth and gums. Another use for this plant is to stop bleeding from wounds and cuts.

Peppermint: Whether you use fresh mint leaves or essential oil, you will feel pain relief every time. Dampen a cotton ball with peppermint oil and apply to the affected area. If using fresh mint, simply chew 1–2 leaves until they flow. Then slide them over the tooth. Remove after a few minutes and rinse your mouth with salt water.

Chamomile: Rinsing your mouth with chamomile will protect you from bleeding, gum swelling, and inflammation. Brew chamomile tea with lemon juice and some vanilla extract. After brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth with chamomile tea and spit it out. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties will help get rid of problems for a long time.

Garlic: Garlic is a natural antibiotic. It not only relieves toothache, but also, thanks to its antiseptic properties, helps to fight their cause. You can bite a raw garlic clove with a sore tooth, or crush it and mix with sea salt, then apply the prepared paste to the sore tooth.

Clove: It also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and pain-relieving properties. Mix two chopped cloves with olive oil or oil. Apply the mixture to the affected area with a cotton swab
