A cleansing diet is a good way to improve the condition of your body. If you notice a deterioration in fitness, constant lethargy, lack of energy on a daily basis, and you have acne on the skin and digestive problems, this is a sign that the digestive system may be malfunctioning. In such situations, it is recommended to follow a bowel cleansing diet. It can be done several times a year, but common sense should be used. So, what does a bowel cleanse diet look like?

When should you use a colon cleanse diet?

A bowel cleansing diet is suitable for anyone who would like to lose a few extra pounds and cleanse the digestive system of deposits. The latter are caused by poor dietary habits: eating too little fiber while eating a lot of processed foods, sweets and foods rich in trans fats. A bowel cleansing diet is also useful for people suffering from certain ailments.

What should motivate you to choose a bowel cleansing diet? First, this is a deterioration in body shape, which is manifested by chronic fatigue and lethargy, as well as some ailments, which include the formation of pimples, a sharp increase in weight or overcoming diarrhea or constipation. You should switch to a cleansing diet for the intestines if you develop a tendency to bad breath, frequent infections, headaches or insomnia.

Why is a bowel cleansing diet important?

As a result of improper nutrition, deposits can accumulate in the intestines. These are dense, solid masses of feces that settle on the walls of these vital organs and reduce their lumen. This makes it difficult for the entire digestive system to work and cannot always cope with the thorough digestion of the food eaten. Long-term deposits in the intestines can release toxins and thus overwhelm the liver and kidneys, which must work hard to get rid of them. Deposits can also limit the amount of natural intestinal flora, which quickly manifests itself in weakening the body and the immune system and puts us at risk of infection.

Prepare for a bowel cleansing diet

Before introducing a bowel cleansing diet, it is worth preparing for it. A sudden change in eating habits can lead to an even greater dysregulation of the digestive system. So, what should you do before a colon cleansing diet becomes part of your daily routine? First, you need to give up your old eating habits and give up processed and fatty foods, as well as red meat or sweets. For a gut cleanse diet to make sense, you should also cut out stimulants and drink more water. If these conditions are met, you can proceed to the appropriate stage.

What and how to eat during a bowel cleansing diet?

A bowel cleansing diet should not be very strict, but there are a few rules to keep in mind. The menu should be rich in foods containing dietary fiber. Where can I find them? A rich source is, first, cereals and whole grain pasta. In addition, during the diet, one should not forget about vegetables, of which the most recommended are courgettes, lettuce, pumpkin, tomatoes and peppers. During the bowel cleansing diet, you should also eat fruits: apples and citrus fruits. The latter prevent acidification of the body.

Do not forget to rationally distribute meals. As a rule, the menu should be dominated by three main meals and two snacks. Eating more often makes you feel better because hunger is easier to control. In addition, you should always remember to drink at least two liters of fluid a day. Mineral water is best, but nothing prevents you from getting to herbal infusions: lemon balm, milk thistle and nettle.

If we want to cleanse the intestines in a short time, we can choose diets that should not be used for more than three days. What you should pay attention to? Some people recommend the apple diet. Unfortunately, it is included in the so-called mono-diet, i.e. does not vary. What is this bowel cleansing diet? First, eat two kilograms of raw apples, divided into portions during the day. Of course, one must not forget to drink liquid (preferably water). Instead of apples, you can only eat raw vegetables in the same proportions, that is, two kilograms per day.

Another suggestion is a five-day kefir diet. It is assumed that on the first day you eat only low-fat cottage cheese, and on the next two days, all meals are kefir (preferably low-fat). On the fourth day, you can include raw and boiled vegetables in the menu, on the last day, replace kefir with water, and season the menu with low-fat poultry.

Keep in mind that any mono diets should not be practiced for long periods of time, as they can do more harm than help. In addition, their use for too long can contribute to the rapid formation of the yo-yo effect.
