You do not know what to do with the abundance of mint that grows in your garden? Mint is very fragrant and refreshing. Here are some quick and easy ways to use it:

Peppermint sugar

Peppermint sugar can be used as a sprinkle for cakes, muffins or rolls. It can also be used to sweeten tea or to cover green grapes to create an unusual flavor. Nevertheless, a favorite use is to dip toast (instead of sugar with cinnamon) in toast with butter. It’s delicious!

To make mint sugar, mix 1/3 cup sugar with 8 fresh mint leaves in a small blender. Use immediately, or if you want to store such sugar for longer, apply one layer on baking paper and let it dry overnight. Store in a small jar.

Refresh yourself on a hot summer day! You can use any mint that is at your fingertips, but my favorite mint.

Preparation: fill the jar with fresh mint leaves. Pour boiling water into them, cover with a plate and leave until it is cold enough to touch the can. Put tea in the refrigerator and leave it for several hours or overnight. (This will give us a really strong drink.) Strain, sweeten to taste and add ice cubes. It tastes best in a hammock, in the shade, with a good book!

This tincture can be used to treat indigestion and motion sickness. He is also known for his hiccup properties!

Method of preparation: fill the jar with fresh mint leaves (depending on the size of the jar, how many leaves you add), and then pour at least 80% of vodka or brandy.

If you don’t have fresh mint, you can also use dried mint – then use 5 parts of alcohol for 1 part of dried leaves. If the lid is metal, place a film between it and the can to prevent corrosion.

Spin and store in a dark, cool place for 2–3 weeks, shaking the jar every 1–2 days. Begin dosing with a few drops, increasing them if necessary. For the treatment of my family members, I use a mixture of this tincture with fresh honey.

Mint vinegar

Peppermint vinegar is extremely easy to make and often very healthy! To clean windows and countertops, mix one-part mint vinegar with 1-part water and a pinch of corn starch (optional). Shake well before use.

You can also add peppermint vinegar to your mop. If you want to use it as an economical fabric softener, use 1/4–1/2 cups for one wash. Dilute in water to rinse easily.

Cooking method:

Fill the jar with fresh mint leaves and add vinegar. If you want to use our home cleaning mix, use regular vinegar. However, if you have cooking plans associated with this, wine vinegar will be better. You can also use apple cider vinegar, which is especially useful for rinsing your hair. Cover the jar with plastic wrap and screw it. Due to this, we will avoid rust of the lid and destruction of the mixture. Leave on for 3–4 weeks, periodically shaking the jar. During this time, the vinegar should acquire a pleasant minty smell, and if not, then keep it this way for a week or longer. You can also take out old leaves and put fresh ones for a stronger smell.

Bath salts are a quick and easy gift. This variety of peppermint salt has a particularly beneficial effect in relieving pain and muscle fatigue.

Preparation: Take some fresh mint leaves. Lay them on a paper towel and let them dry for two or three days until they crumble. Mix 1 cup Epsom Salt with a few shredded dried leaves. I sift them through a sieve so that they do not block the drain in the bathroom later. Usually the smell of dried herbs or flowers is enough to give our salt a flavor, but you can also add a few drops of peppermint essential oil if you want a stronger smell. Store in a tightly closed jar. Use: Pour into a bathtub by pouring water into it.

Peppermint Shampoo

This procedure should be performed no more than once every few months, and is best suited for oily hair.

Preparation: Mix 1 teaspoon of your favorite shampoo with 1 teaspoon of mint tea and 1/2 teaspoon of green French clay (or other cosmetic clay). Add one to two drops of peppermint essential oil to give the mixture even more refreshing properties. Massage a small amount of scalp. Leave on for two to three minutes, then rinse thoroughly. For the last rinse, use 1-part water and 1-part vinegar.
